Three Poems by Gerald So

My favorite euphemism

for dead
sounds like
I'm early for lunch
and you've gotten
stuck in traffic.

1991 -

St. Mary's High School goes co-ed, and the best
the yearbook committee can think of is male and
female symbols crowding the cover like hot air
molecules in a jar.

Watching reruns of MacGyver

it slips my mind
which actors are dead.

They've all moved on
some way or other.

Maybe I should, too.
